United Airlines 24 Hours Cancellation Policy
United Airlines offers a very flexible 24 hours cancellation policy that allows a passenger to cancel his ticket without paying any cancellation fee. If the ticket was booked on United Airlines official website and the travel date of the ticket was scheduled to be a week or more from the date of purchase then the ticket is entitled to get a full refund without having to pay any cancellation charges if the cancellation is done within 24 hours of booking the ticket.
Economy Basic fare tickets are not eligible to make any changes but are eligible to get a full refund if cancelled within 24 hours ticket cancellation policy.
United Airlines Refund Policy
To get a refund from your cancelled ticket you must first check if your ticket is eligible for a refund or not.
Your ticket will be refunded only if:
- It has been purchased from United Airlines' official website, booked at united Airlines ticket counter or by calling the United Airlines reservations call center.
- Not purchased under any offer.
If your ticket meets the eligibility criteria then you can visit the website and click on “Manage Reservation” to cancel your bookings and request for refunds.
While a refund can be requested for any fare that allows refunds depending on the fare rules a cancellation fee may be applied.
For fares that are non-refundable, a credit is issued that can be used to purchase a new ticket of the same value. These tickets are valid until one year from the date of issuance.
Tickets purchased with a credit card will be refunded within 7 business days from the date of the refund request. While all other forms of refund will take up to 20 business days from the date of the request to process.
All the refunds will be credited back to the original mode of payment.
If you purchased your ticket from a travel agency then your refunds will be processed by them only.
The refund amount of partially used tickets will be based on the difference of fare between the original ticket fare, the charges applied after cancellation and the portion of ticket used for travel.
