In case if you want to cancel your booked flight all of a sudden due to some unavoidable reasons. This can be a nightmare for some people if they do not have enough information about the cancellation policy and refund policy of that airline.
If you have Qatar Airways tickets and you want to cancel your reservation then you should first read the cancellation policy of Qatar Airways very carefully to avoid any misunderstanding later on.
It is always recommended to read the terms and conditions of the Qatar flight cancellation before making any changes to your reservations because once cancelled or changed can not be modified back.
Qatar Airways 24 Hours Cancellation Policy
If you booked your ticket having a travel date of 7 days or more and you want to cancel your ticket then you will be qualified to get a refund. However, you must note that you must cancel the Qatar Airways flight within 24 hours of booking to get a full refund. There will not be any cancellation fee charged for reservations cancelled within 24 hours of booking. If you prefer to make some change within 24 hours then you will not be entitled to pay any additional fee but will have to pay any difference in the fare. If the change has lower fare than your original ticket then you will be returned back the fare difference.
However, if you cancel your ticket or make any change in it beyond 24 hours of booking then you will have to pay an additional fee for that.
Qatar Airways Cancellation Refund Policy
Any unused ticket will be entitled to get a full refund including taxes after deducting the cancellation charges if any according to fare rules for a refundable ticket.
For Fares which allow a refund after flight departure, If relevant OW fare plus cancellation fees overshadow the originally collected base fare for the journey and the base fare paid remains non-refundable.
Tickets that are:
- Used beyond the point of turn around – No Compensation allowed
- Used out of sequence – No compensation allowed.
Qatar Airways Flight Cancellation Policy
If a fare is non-refundable, then no part of the Fare + YQ/YR will be refunded back in any condition.
You will have to pay for Adult, Child, and infant engaging a seat.
Charges including No-Show charge will not apply for an infant occupying a seat if the child and infant engaging a seat will be paying the equivalent change/cancellation charges as an adult passenger.
Change/No-show fee collected under XP in the tax field will settle as non-refundable. Both no-show and cancellation fees will employ (if any)according to the fare rule. If a passenger was refused to board at check-in for not having adequate travel documents (Passport, Visa, etc.) then all relevant cancellation and No-show fees should be consolidated.
For Completely Unused tickets, the cancellation fee is applicable as follows:

For NonRefundable Fares
If you purchased a non-refundable ticket then unused coupon’s flown based tax(es) are refundable.
If a non-refundable fare ticket is reissued to a refundable fare ticket then YQ/YR will be summoned according to the new fare conditions and only the base fare of the original non-refundable ticket will be as nonrefundable.
